Saskatoon Company Makes its Mark in the World of High Tech
A Saskatoon company is making a big difference in the technology world.
Solido Design Automation was founded in 2005, and specializes in software development for smartphones, tablets and smartwatches.
Co-founder Amit Gupta says their software helps solve issues when companies want to shrink their devices. He explains that the software predicts what will happen when electronics shrink, allowing their customers to adjust their designs and technology.
Gupta says they are one of the leading providers of their software to the technological world, something they sought when they started the business 10 years ago. His plan was to build the company locally and make a difference in the next generation of technology. He says devices like Apple’s iPhone and Samsung’s Galaxy smartphones were partly designed with software built right in Saskatoon.
Solido will be doubling their software offices in Saskatoon to fit with a growing demand from around the world.
He says they will be adding electrical engineers and computer scientists, as well as new graduates from the University of Saskatchewan in the new expansion.
Gupta says they have customers in California’s technology hub, Silicon Valley, in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China and Europe.
