Golden Opportunities Fund, Key Investor in Solido Design Automation Inc.
Golden Opportunities Fund Inc. is pleased to announce that one of its portfolio companies, Solido Design Automation Inc., has executed a key business partnership with Japan based Aisys Corporation. Golden Opportunities Fund Inc. completed an investment of $2,000,000 in Solido Design Automation by way of convertible preferred shares in September 2006 as part of a $6,500,000 financing to roll out its analog/mixed signal software technology.
Grant Kook, CEO and Chairman of Golden Opportunities Fund Inc. indicates that “Golden is about investing in proven investment management teams with leading edge technologies. This definition could not be more true in the case of our investment in Solido Design Automation Inc. Mr. Amit Gupta, President/CEO and his management team have built and sold a previous successful company in the analog design space in the past, but had to do so in another province due to the lack of available venture capital at that time in Saskatchewan. This time we are excited to be able to keep their success in this province as a result of the capital that now exists from Golden Opportunities Fund and our syndicated partners.”
“The press release issued by Solido Design Automation on January 23, 2007 announces a strategic business partnership with Japan’s Aisys Corporation which is truly a milestone for the company given the demand from the Japanese market for Solido’s technology.” indicated Mr. Kook
Golden Opportunities Fund Inc. is Saskatchewan’s #1 selling and investment Labour-sponsored Fund, having raised over $83 million in share capital to date from approximately 13,000 shareholders. The Fund has completed 89 investment transactions in 59 different Saskatchewan growth companies across 10 different industry sectors for diversification, impacting the future of Saskatchewan.
